Staying at home in Phuket during the pandemic, Angelys Balek had the time to get back to her hobby -- drawing. Using crayons and a free-hand technique, the Thai-American designer drew items such as flower vases, her home, her pets and oceanscapes.

The sketches have been transferred to the AB. Angelys Balek summer 2022 collection From Diary To Canvas.

It has been 10 years since Angelys launched her ready-to-wear collection at New York Fashion Week in 2012. AB. Angelys Balek has been known for swimwear that stands out for its bold colours and unique prints.

The new collection boasts bright hues, pairing of contrasting colours and bold patterns that reflect on her adventurous, lively and optimistic personality. Black makes a comeback as a confidence-boosting colour in one-piece swimsuits and bikinis.

Signature ruffles and puffy doll sleeves reappear in the designs, while cutting techniques along with new silhouettes have been devised for certain pieces.

AB. Angelys Balek's summer wear also includes kaftans, whose designs are inspired by fish scales and mermaids, with each piece finished by artisans.
