A collection of black and white photographs by Prof Nantawat Boramanand, a prominent lawyer with a passion for photography, are showcased during "The Tale Of Two Cities: Finale" at Gallery 1 of Thailand Creative & Design Centre, The Grand Postal Building, Charoen Krung Road, until Dec 18.
On display are 82 images that portray the beauty of life in two capitals -- Bangkok and Paris -- which the former dean of Chulalongkorn University's Faculty of Law has long history with.
Paris is like his second home as he spent many years studying for a master's and doctorate in public law before serving as a visiting professor at a university in the south of France.
Viewers will witness the charm of Paris from its historical architecture and people to stores, and also the charm of Bangkok from historical houses to temples, captured through his lens.
Besides his monochrome images, the exhibition also showcases 10 works by five guest artists -- each of whom has transformed two of his photos into new works using their own style.
They are HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn; botanical artist Phansakdi Chakkapak; illustrator and collage artist Nakrob Moonmanas; graphic designer-turned artist Atchalinee Kesornsook; and Arinya Kanthino, an art student from Silpakorn University.
This is a continuation to Nantawat's first exhibition of the same title held in August with the aim to raise funds for a cochlear implant for a young deaf child under the care of the Foundation for the Deaf under Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. All proceeds from sales of his photos will also go to the foundation to provide a similar implant for four other children.
The exhibition is open for public viewing daily from 10.30am to 7pm, except Monday. There is no admission fee.
