’Tis the most wonderful time of the year for new menus, with a splash of festivity thrown in!

♦ Pizza Massilia will launch a festive menu to celebrate the holidays until Jan 8, 2023 at the Ruam Rudee branch. Inspired by Pizza Massilia’s friends at Amano in Manila, Philippines, chef Michele Fernando presents Cotechino fritto, nuggets of deep fried slow-cooked pork sausage ready to be dipped in a housemade lentil mayonnaise. The stars of the menu are three festive pizzas (yes, you read that right): Serrano ham pizza, Octopus & potatoes pizza and Smoked Norwegian salmon & pomegranate pizza. ♦ From Dec 15, La Bottega di Luca is serving its festive menu with head chef Marco Avesani preparing an Italian celebration. The feast begins with Grilled langoustines served with Osietra caviar, Champagne sauce and passion fruit. Level up with French foie gras topped with the unmistakable texture of Amarena Fabbri (wild cherry) and raspberry purée. Risotto with saffron, Piennolo tomato, Burrata and Mazara Del Vallo prawns, one of the prized crustaceans on the market, will also grace the menu. Chef Marco brings his childhood favourite of Fresh agnolotti filled with pumpkin, Amaretto, butter and black winter truffle. The Italian symbol of Christmas, a delicate artisan panettone with Zabaione cream and chef Marco’s favourite Sbrisolona cake, a traditional crumbly almond cake from Lombardy, is served with grappa. ♦ At Mia, Chefs Pongcharn “Top” Russell and Michelle Goh will create an indulging festive menu composed of succulent dishes prepared with imported and local seasonal products that can be paired with carefully selected fine wines. The eight-course festive tasting menu highlighting Turkey ballotine and North Sea crab with ajo blanco and grapes is priced at B4,850++ and the five-course menu is priced at B3,850++ and is available from Dec 20-30. On Dec 24-26,   only eight courses will be available for lunch and dinner. The plant-based and vegetarian culinary journey is priced at B3,850 ++. On New Years Eve, the eight-course dinner highlights premium ingredients such as Cured hamachi with cashew milk dressing and shiso oil and is priced at B B5,850 ++ baht. ♦ Thai restaurant 80/20 will be serving a "Festive Special Tasting Menu" until Dec 8, 2023. Chef Andrew Martin will surprise your palate with an array of new dishes, which draws inspiration from traditional Thai cuisine. "The menu celebrates the season with individual dishes and sharing dishes. It includes Khanom buang talay with uni, caviar and cacao; and Pla mamuang with amberjack, mango, roast coconut, however there may be small daily changes as the ingredients depend on what's in the market on the day. The highlight is the Ped Yaowarat, though reminiscent of Christmas with roasted duck breast, chestnut and cherry, it is strongly Thai-Chinese," says chef Martin. Get ready for the Nam Xmas or the rose apple spiced tea, served chilled to pair with the Bangkok weather, but even chilled it will definitely give you that warm Christmas feeling. ♦ Ikea is serving a julebord buffet this Christmas! Celebrate the festival with a line-up of many Swedish dishes, beverages, and Ikea's popular dishes. The exclusive buffet will be served from Dec 12-13 at Ikea Bangna and Ikea Bangyai. Traditionally, Dec 13 is celebrated as St. Lucia’s Day in Sweden, where children wear white gowns and a candle crown or a wreath decorated with lights. On Dec 24. the Swedes gather with family to feast on a meal served buffet style. Ikea's julebord will feature kottbullar or Swedish meatballs with all the sides; julskinka or Christmas ham; gravax or cured salmon served with hovmastarsas mustard; revbensspjall or baked pork ribs; and a lot more favourites. Finishing off the Swedish gourmand journey, will be a myriad of Swedish desserts. The 90-minute Swedish Christmas buffet is priced at B299 baht for adults, B99 baht for children between the ages of four and 12 and free for those under four. The buffet is served twice a day: 5.30–7.30pm and from 7.30-9pm. Diners need to visit Ikea stores to buy tickets, book their preferred slot, as well as seating.

♦ Every Saturday in December, after-dark venue Lost & Found, on the 3rd floor of Avani+ Riverside Bangkok Hotel / Riverside Plaza, will keep the strobe lights on and the festive cheer up with Christmas-themed shows, drag acts and live DJs as part of the weekly Christmas nights. Guests joining the crew of regulars for Bad Santa! night can look forward to merry frolics with Santa’s elves on stage and generous food and drinks packages. A menu of guilty pleasures includes a seafood-rich appetiser section and a choice of land or sea mains. Champagne On Fire, the decadent dessert, offers a delicious finale. The weekly Bad Santa!
