Thai Airways has finally flown into 2022 and made it a smooth with the revamp and launch of three new digital channels.

At the recent “Gateway To The Magical Journey”, held at The Peninsula Bangkok, three digital customer service channels namely, Sawasdee, Royal Orchid Holidays and Thai e-Library, were introduced with the aim of inspiring travellers, boosting the service competitive edge and increasing customer satisfaction.

Dr. Piyasvasti Amranand, chairman of the plan administrator of Thai Airways.

Dr Piyasvasti Amranand, chairman of the plan administrator of Thai Airways (TG), said that the digital services would offer new technology that cater to the digital lifestyle and travel content, which is easy to access, comprehensive and inspirational to all travellers.

Since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, various technologies have been developed and widely implemented to maximise comfort and convenience for users. This digital disruption prompted more and more people to use digital platforms, which allow for easier access to services and less physical contact. Seeing this potential and demand for digital growth, TG has developed the new platforms to offer convenience and cater to the increasing, sophisticated needs of modern travellers.

The new digital features, which were first launched in October, are expected to boost competitive edge in service, generate more customer satisfaction and strengthen TG’s position as one of the region’s leading airlines.

TG inflight magazine, Sawasdee, now has its own website and will become an online lifestyle hub to offer up-to-date, comprehensive travel content and other useful information. The website also sees the return of the much-loved and familiar inflight Sawasdee magazine in digital format, with new contents every month that readers can enjoy anywhere. The website also offers a complimentary downloadable Sawasdee Pocket Guide in PDF format at sawasdee.thaiairways.com.

Royal Orchid Holidays is a refreshed and comprehensive version of Royal Orchid Holidays Online that offers hotel reservation, tour packages and car rental at royalorchidholidays.com. Travellers, especially those traveling solo, can also fully design their own personalised packages and services to create their own unique travel experiences. Also included are airport transfers and fast-track immigration services.

Thai e-Library is a digital publication that offers more than 50 entries of local and international newspapers and magazines to passengers and customers at TG and Thai Smile lounges, and supports various languages, from English to Mandarin, French and German. After check-in and receiving their boarding pass, passengers will be provided with a log-in to access the Thai e-Library where content can also be downloaded to enjoy at a later time, either aboard the flight or on ground. Besides accommodating modern digital lifestyle, Thai e-Library also minimises impact on the environment by reducing the use of paper for printing, economising paper recycling process, lightening the planes’ weight and reducing carbon emission.

Korakot Chatasingha, chief, TG commercial, added that during the recovery period post-pandemic where travel restrictions have been relaxed and countries are beginning to open for tourism, TG is aiming to expand its flights to accommodate inbound and outbound travel to destinations like Japan, Korea and European countries with daily direct fights.

The airline has extensively improved its service to cater to the new normal lifestyle with the ease and convenience of online channels. TG is building on its digital landscape by offering more services, including flight tickets, tour packages, airport transfers and fast track immigration online with customer-centric approach that aims to convenience and satisfaction.

The launch also featured a talk by wanderlust celebrities such as Manatsanun “Donut” Phanlerdwongsakul and Rusameekae Fagerlund, as well as an interactive exhibition that introduced functions and highlights of each platform.
