Splendid food, produce and ingredients from Canada that follow sustainable practices are presented during the "Taste of Canada 2024" at Gourmet Market at EmQuartier, Emporium, Emsphere and Paragon, until Aug 5.
A collaboration with the Canadian embassy, this 13th edition of the food festival is held under the theme "Sustainability Is in Our Nature" to promote the Canadian food industry which is known for its hygiene, quality, freshness and safety.
This year's festival brings a selection of premium products that reflect the exquisite flavour of Canada which is rich in natural resources. High on the list of Canada's best exports include sockeye salmon or red salmon from Fraser River, which has dense, intense and deep red flesh packed with omega-3; and Vancouver oysters known for being clean, sweet and briny.
Other highlights are premium-grade red cherries distinct for their large, plump, dense and crunchy flesh with sweet taste; and Snow Farms dried cranberries that are naturally sweet and free from preservatives and additives. This item is available in Thailand for the first time at the festival.
Also, prepare to shop for Canmar golden roasted flax, dark chocolate from Qantu brand that uses single-origin beans to maintain cacao varieties, Turkey Hill pure maple syrup, Dm Berg iceberg water, and Timbits from Tim Hortons.
For shoppers who prefer not to cook, they can stop by the "You Hunt We Cook" station and taste delicious dishes such as grilled Canadian sockeye salmon with maple syrup orange sauce and berry mint salad, and Vancouver oyster Rockefeller.
