"Research Synergy For The Sustainable Development Of Thai Economy And Society" is the theme of Thailand Research Expo 2024 which kicks off today and runs daily from 9am to 5pm until Friday at Centara Grand & Bangkok Convention Centre, CentralWorld, Ratchadamri Road.
Organised by the National Research Council of Thailand with the aim to foster connections among research networks at all levels, the expo features a comprehensive showcase of over 1,000 groundbreaking innovations from across the country. They are categorised into six themes, each addressing critical areas necessary for the country's development -- "BCG Economy", "Soft Power", "New Economy", "Sustainable Society", "Environment", and "Community Enterprise And SMEs".
Among the interesting research pieces are the application of synchrotron light technology to preserve the quality of frozen durian for export by the Synchrotron Light Research Institute; the development of a safe planting system for edible flower by the Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research; and the development of hand-spun yarn from sugarcane and Filagen fibres blended for fashion designs by Rajamangala University of Technology Krungthep.
Other innovative creations include a high-performance, low-altitude solar-powered unmanned aerial vehicle by the Defense Science and Technology Department; I-SecTechnology, an automatic industrial-level cricket protein extraction technology for a sustainable future by Naresuan University; and Muay Thai in Muang Lung, cultural products to promote Thai boxing by Thaksin University.
Besides many special exhibitions, interested visitors are invited to engage in over 150 talks and seminars covering crucial topics, as well as a CEO forum.
There are also research clinics and business matching slots.
