Lovers of mooncakes have until Sept 17 to browse over 60 local and foreign brands during the Gourmet Mooncake Festival 2024, which is running at the Gourmet Hall in Paragon, on the ground floor of EmQuartier, M Market of Emsphere and every branch of Gourmet Eats.
The festival is held under the concept of "A Symbolic Of L.O.V.E" to reflect Chinese-Thai culture in gifting special mooncakes to family members and relatives, as they symbolise a circle of unity and harmony. The four letters represent four groups of the best mooncakes from Thailand and overseas.
The first group refers to mooncakes imported from abroad. They include Lady M New York, a boutique bakery and luxury confectionery brand from New York, which has created a special mooncake set packed in a luxurious velvet box with great details; and Imperial Patisserie Hong Kong, a famous pastry shop which brings legendary lava custard as well as a low-sugar version of lava custard mooncake.
The next group is a selection of modern style mooncakes from 20 leading hotels and restaurants, namely The Peninsula Bangkok, The Mandarin Oriental Shop, Banyan Tree Bangkok, W Bangkok Hotel, Shangarila Restaurant, Gokjai, Hong Kong Fisherman, Pengkee and Bakery Hut.
The third group features extraordinary mooncakes made from premium ingredients that can't be found anywhere else. They include mooncakes by Mott 32 Bangkok and Karrat.
The last group presents mooncakes from exclusive brands only available at the festival. They include Torry's, a famous ice cream and confectionery shop in Phuket, Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok and the Okura Prestige Bangkok.
