'Thailand Art Talent (TaT)" is a curtain-raiser for the Bangkok Art Biennale, and part of the 10-year anniversary of the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC).

The weeklong exhibition, which begins on Sept 29 at River City, will showcase work from top art students from some of the city's leading schools. There will also be a live contest, with a live public vote and a jury competition, on Sept 29 during the opening reception from 2-4pm.

Participating in the exhibition are Bromsgrove, Concordian, Harrow, KIS, Rose Marie Academy, Ruamrudee, Shrewsbury, Thai Chinese International School, Wattana and Wells international schools. Each school highlights creativity as an important element of the curriculum to cultivate global citizens capable of confident self-expression.

"TaT" has been set up by Astrid Garcia-Amaya, AOTArt CEO and wife of the Colombian ambassador, in partnership with the BACC.

"'Thailand Art Talent' is the response to share all this creativity with the community, to empower this talent, to inspire other students and to promote schools for their creative education. There are multiple reality-based competitions elevating performance art worldwide, but there are fewer vehicles to bring other forms of creative arts to mass audiences," said Garcia-Amaya.

Founded in 1995 and headquartered in New York City, AOTArt's mission is to discover and elevate artists worldwide by connecting them with patrons and supporters.

"Thailand Art Talent" will be on display from Sept 29 to Oct 8 at River City shopping mall.
