The Main Atrium of Seacon Bangkae is serving as a platform for a new generation of designers to showcase their products as part of the Magnificent fair, which runs until Sunday.

On show are more than 500 items, including apparel, accessories and handbags made from scrap materials, as well as home furniture in creative designs. Interested visitors can place an order for purchase or production.

The one-of-a-kind products were made by students from four universities: the Department of Creative Arts at Chulalongkorn University's Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, the Creative Center for Eco-Design at Kasetsart University's Faculty of Architecture, Poh-Chang Academy of Arts at Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin, and Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon's Faculty of Industrial Textiles and Fashion Design.

Also on display are five creations by Apichet Atirattana, aka Madiew, the internationally renowned fashion designer and owner of KOxMA. He is famed for using household objects in his mix-and-match fashion styles.

The fair is also an opportunity to shop for products from more than 50 shops. And for those interested in improving their photography skills, get tips on how to use smartphone cameras like a pro at the workshop, which takes place at 5pm on Thursday and then twice a day, at 2.30pm and 5pm, from Friday until Sunday.
