The inaugural "MLive Market" food festival is set to celebrate the vibrant Bangkok street food scene on Nov 10-18.

Hosted in front of Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong Hotel, MLive Market will see 30 hotel restaurants under the umbrella of Marriott International come together to offer a plethora of signature dishes in a lively and social street food atmosphere.

Starting daily at 11am, the nine-day festival will showcase almost 100 international dishes with choices ranging from local classics to Western contemporary delicacies. The gastronomic event is enlivened by live performances from DJs and bands, plus various exciting onstage activities including cooking contests, chef battles and cocktail competition. Admission to the festival is free.

Festivalgoers will also have a chance to take part in a range of fun-filled food-related activities, including a chilli-eating contest, wine-tasting master class and trivia games. There will be auctions and prize draws to raise money for charity.

Music artists include Jenny and the Skallywags, the winner of MTV's Project Aloft Star Amplified; Thai duo Mild & Fuji; rockers Danny & Delany; and the Bangkok trio Mind Logic. There will also be awe-inspiring performances by the OMS String Ensemble, which features seven young violinists under the age of 15. Culinary-wise, the event boasts food such as slow-cooked beef brisket and barbecue pork spareribs with Mekong barbecue sauce from Goji Kitchen & Bar; special Korean-American styled tacos from Akira Back; crab curry and "chicken volcano" from Praya Kitchen; sous vide pork belly with caramelised mango and balsamic vinegar from Latest Recipe; Hong Kong noodle with barbecue pork from Fei Ya; pulled pork bun from the Kitchen Table; truffle mac and cheese from District Grill; a variety of panini sandwiches from Giorgio's; red curry with crabmeat and betel leaves from Smooth Curry; gyoza, yakitori and assorted nigiri sushi from Kisso; Italian thin-crust pizza from Rossini's; and porcini and Parmesan risotto from Jojo.

Those with a sweet tooth are promised a luscious delight by mango, Thai tea and coconut macaroon from Praya Kitchen; Caprese flourless chocolate-almond cake from Latest Recipe; butterfly cookies from the Athenee Bakery; Hong Kong waffle from the Courtyard at the House on Sathorn; toffee apple beer ice cream from the Drunken Leprechaun Irish pub; and afternoon tea platter from St. Regis Bar.

Prices start from 40 baht per item. The average price for a main dish is 120 baht.
