Fans of music icon Celine Dion are eagerly counting down to her Bangkok debut performance at Impact Arena, Muang Thong Thani, on Monday at 8.30pm.

The concert will be part of the Asia leg of her 2018 live world tour, which already saw her warmly embraced by 55,000 impressed Japanese fans at the Tokyo Dome late last month.

Her two sold-out performances at Singapore's Marina Bay Sands Grand Ballroom early this month also received rave reviews, with many saying that they had been transfixed by the musical-like production and her gorgeous costumes throughout the show.

The set list for the upcoming Bangkok concert remains confidential, though one can hope to see Dion deliver the all-time favourite My Heart Will Go On with her powerful voice, as well as other classics from the English and French albums she has released over the past three decades.

A former teen star from Quebec, Canada, with a series of French albums during the 1980s, Dion released her first English-language album, Unison, in 1990, which established her as a viable pop artist in North America and other English-speaking areas of the world. She built on that and achieved worldwide fame after releasing several more albums, in both French and English, in the 1990s.

Hailed as one of the best female vocalists ever, the 50-year-old songstress has won five Grammy Awards, seven American Music Awards and two Academy Awards. The Billboard Music Awards also presented her with the lifetime achievement Icon Award in 2016. She has so far sold almost 250 million albums worldwide, becoming one of the best-selling female artists of all time.

She will give two concerts in Manila before stopping over for her show in the Kingdom. After that, she will perform at least 10 concerts in Australia and New Zealand. Her world tour is promoting an upcoming English-language album, to be released later this year.

Ticket prices range from 2,000 to 15,000 baht, and can be purchased from Thai Ticket Major.
