This year's Maya International Music Festival, which will take place on Saturday and Sunday, will move from Pattaya to Bangkok's Oasis Arena, Show DC, with a capacity of 50,000 people. No longer just an EDM festival, the event has added more K-pop and J-pop acts to present diverse music. The long lineup includes world-famous DJs -- Alesso, Porter Robinson, Markus Schulz, Major Lazer Soundsystem and Galanti -- as well as singers from top K-pop groups -- Girls' Generation's Hyo, Exo-CBX, Super Junior D&E -- and a J-pop group -- the sister group of BNK48, AKB48. The British electronic pop duo Oh Wonder will also perform at Maya.

The EDM headliners are Swedish DJ Alesso and American DJ Porter Robinson, celebrated for their raves that feature well-crafted compilation music and spectacular production. Their trance, house, techno and drum and bass can make the crowds dance energetically. Fans can expect to hear mash-up tracks Remedy and Tilted Towers from Alesso and Angel Voices from Porter.

The headlining K-pop act on Saturday, Hyo-yeon from the girl group Girls' Generation, has used the stage name DJ Hyo for her solo EDM singles Sober and Punk Right Now. On Sunday, Exo-CBX is the K-pop headliner. The group is a subunit of the popular boy band Exo, consisting of three vocalists -- Chen, Baekhyun and Xiumin -- who can guarantee powerful and melodious performances. They surely will perform their latest track, Blooming Day.

For J-pop fans, 16 members of AKB48 will perform for one hour on Sunday. After that, they will meet their fans in person at a handshake event.

Since most who show up for K-pop and J-pop are minors, the organiser specifies that attendees must be older than 13 and that there will be no alcohol for those younger than 20.

Tickets for the two days of shows are 3,700 baht. Go to mayamusicfestival.com for detailed lineups and schedules.
