Official description

Veganism is no longer just a fad Bangkokians are falling into, it's becoming a way of life. And thankfully, there are a growing number of restaurants in the city that will cater to this life choice. Not enough, but we're getting there. If you hate the thought of eating like a vegan, let's just say there really is no need to hate.

When done right, vegan food can hit your taste buds in all the right spots. And Veganerie Soul, a new spot that's adding a fresh layer to the Siam Paragon's foodie scene, does it just right. Some of the dishes here are to die for. We tried a few that would satisfy any sweet tooth.

Skinny apple sandwich.

First off, we went with the Sweet antioxidant (B185) -- which consists of two scoops of acai-berry sorbet topped with soy yoghurt and fresh berries. Very delicious if you're looking to lay off the calories. If not, we recommend you try one of the vegan ice-cream sundaes, for instances, the Superfoods cacao nicecream (B185), the Blackforest sundae (B195) or the Strawberry cheesepie (B195). In a nutshell, mouthfuls of heaven.

We then tried the Fruity delight waffles (B195) -- vegan vanilla waffles that come with kiwi, strawberries, bananas and coconut cream. Pour some coconut syrup over them waffles and tuck right in to a super sweet meal.

Our absolute favourite though was the Skinny apple sandwich (B165), a delightful tower of sliced apples with peanut butter, bananas, goji berries and raisins wedged in between each of the slices; a long stick of cinnamon punched through the middle acting like that toothpick you'll usually see holding together club sandwiches. This sandwich was lovely to eat, super filling, super tasty and super healthy! A word of advice though -- this sandwich takes time to make so if you head there on a weekend when the place is packed out, you won't be able to order it. If you're keen to try it, head there on a weekday. It's so worth it.

The Blueberry cheesecake (B140) actually tasted better than many of the normal New York cheese cakes we've had. Reason? Ok, honestly, it tastes how any blueberry cheese cake should taste like, without the jam, but it's better because it doesn't leave you feeling super bloated and groggy afterwards. There is a huge variety of other vegan cakes here but we'd say the carrot cake looks the most breath-taking. There are also cookies and muffins piled up in glass jars to pick and choose. Made us feel like a kid in a candy store.

Not got a sweet tooth? There are legit vegan meals here too. We liked the look of the Vegan BBQ pulled pork burger (B190) and the Italian crepe (B230). Actually, we liked the look of everything. Definitely head there if you're vegan or contemplating becoming one. g
