Veteran composer/crooner Chalie Intravichit is turning 89 this year. And to commemorate the occasion, the Foundation for Senior Performing Artists' Welfare, the Sala Chalermkrung Foundation and many students of Khru Chalie are joining forces to present a concert for him.

Entitled ''Piang Lom Rarik Wai Dokmai Kor Rong Pleng (The Flowers Sing as the Wind Blows)'', the tribute concert will be performed by national artists Suthep Wongkamhaeng, Sawalee Pakaphan, Ruangthong Thonglanthom, Chintana Suksathit, Settha Sirachaya and Chalie himself.

Joining them on stage will be famous crooners of yesteryear such as Wirat Yoothaworn, Winai Panthurak, Wichai Punyayan, Rungrudee Paengpongsai, Chomchai Arunchan, Sitthiporn Amornpan, Pichai Thongniam, Anusorn Pattanakul, Umaporn Bua-pueng and many others. The Chalermraj and Ton Siang bands will provide back-up music.

The audience will be treated to many of his memorable hits including Rak Thur Samer (Love You Forever), Yad Petch (Diamond Drop), Kruan (Moan), Pen Pai Mai Dai (Impossible), Thur Yoo Nai (Where Are You?), Talay Mai Koei Lab (The Sea Never Falls Asleep) and Ploi Chan Pai (Let Me Go).

Chalie, a Samut Sakhon native, was named the national artist in performing arts in 1993. Throughout his career, Chalie has composed nearly 1,000 songs, many of which are still popular today.
