Four stars from London's West End theatres will join the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra to present a special "Broadway Hits Concert" held in celebration of HM the Queen's birthday.

Scheduled for Sept 7 at 8 pm at Thailand Cultural Centre, the concert will feature Hannah Waddingham, Daniel Boys and Ben Goddard who have extensive experience in musicals, as well as Martin Yates, one of Britain's most renowned conductors.

The Broadway Hits programme includes songs and duets tracing the development of the musical over more than 80 years.

Starting with George Gershwin's Girl Crazy produced in 1930 and Cole Porter's Anything Goes (1934), it will continue with classics such as Guys And Dolls from 1950, 1957's West Side Story, and Funny Girl from 1964. It will also explore iconic musicals from Hair (1968) and A Chorus Line (1975), to hugely popular current productions, such as The Lion King, Jersey Boys and Wicked.

Waddingham has recently completed a six-month run as the Wicked Witch in Andrew Lloyd Webber's new production of The Wizard Of Oz at the London Palladium. Other West End productions she has had roles in include the Monty Python musical Spamalot and Stephen Sondheim's A Little Night Music and Into The Woods.

Boys played the title role in the musical Peter Pan, Judas in the 40th Anniversary revival of Godspell, Tony on a European tour of West Side Story and other roles in Grease, Rent and Sunset Boulevard.

Goddard played the leading male role in Lloyd Webber's Sunset Boulevard and Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar. He also appeared in Tim Burton's movie Sweeney Todd.

Conductor Yates has recently appeared at the famous Carnegie Hall. He will bring something of this here with the infectious A Lot of Livin' To Do from Bye Bye Birdie and the rousing Applause.

The Broadway Hits Concert is part of the Great Artists of the World 2012 and will take place in the main hall of Thailand Cultural Centre on Sept 7 at 8pm.
