Official description

Movie buffs in Thailand will have the chance to learn more about neighbouring countries through films that will screen at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre and Bangkok University's Rangsit campus throughout the month.

The "Bangkok Asean Art & Culture Festival" will feature seven Asean films that best represent social and cultural dimensions of each country.

The first four movies will be screened in Room 401 of Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, every Thursday at 6pm, from today until Nov 28.

For those who wish to watch the whole package, BUG cinema will be screening one film per day at 2pm from Nov 11-15 and Nov 18-20. The in-house cinema is located on the third floor of Surat Osathanugrah Library, Bangkok University.

After the screenings, there will be talks by guest speakers including Sittha Lertphaiboonsiri, Assoc Prof Puangthong Pawakapan, Chinnapat Chin, Pongpan Chumjai, Chontida Auikool, Adjani Arumpac (director of Nanay Mameng) and Sakchai Deenan.

The festival also features an exhibition focusing on Asean film identity, the industry in each of the countries, as well as information about the movies shown throughout the festival.

All films are in original languages with English subtitles.

There is no admission fee.
