National artists are joining other famous artists to present a spectacular performance to mark HM the Queen’s 82nd birthday anniversary.
Organised by the Ministry of Culture’s Department of Culture Promotion in collaboration with the Foundation for Senior Performing Artists Welfare, In The Garden Of Dreams is a play which recounts many historical events during the era of Their Majesties the King and Queen from 1937 to the present day.
It will be staged in the main hall of the Thailand Cultural Centre, Ratchadaphisek Road, on Aug 2 at 7pm and Aug 3 at 2pm and 7pm.
The story is portrayed through works of literature, song compositions, paintings, theatre performances, movies and soap operas by national artists in literature, visual arts and performing arts.
The performance comprises many parts, including a poem reading by Naowarat Pongpaiboon, a singing by Surachai Chantimatorn and live painting by Chakrabhand Posayakrit, Kamol Tassananchalee, Tawee Ratchaneekorn, Preecha Thaothong, and much more.
Veteran actress Pisamai Wilaisak will lead the performance alongside many famous actors and actresses of the new generation, including Usamanee “Kwan” Waitayanon, Kanklao “Grace” Duaysienklao and Peerapat Thenwong.
Tickets cost 500, 800, 1,000, 1,500 and 2,000 baht and can be purchased from Thai Ticket Major (visit www.thaiticketmajor.com or call 02-262-3456). Proceeds will be presented to HM the Queen.
