Nostalgic love will fill the air in the main hall of Thailand Cultural Centre on Aug 7, as numerous love songs of the 80s will be sung by two legendary bands of yesteryear.
Pink Panther, led by Vichai Punyayan, will share the stage with The Hot Pepper Singers in a concert held to celebrate the launch of the 32 Years Of Pink Panther album. The three-hour concert will start at 7pm.
The audience will be taken down memory lane with a repertoire of 30 memorable love songs performed in pop and Latin styles. They include Pink Panther’s timeless hits such as Rak Chan Nan Phue Thur, Roy Thao Bon Phuen Sai, Nam Sor Sai, Klap Ma Therd Thee Rak, Koy Thur Khuen Ma and Rak Mai Roo Dup.
The string band was founded by Vichai in 1979. The other members include Manot Bin-uma, Somsan Sombatcharoen, Adul Wongkaew, Attaporn Kampoo Na Ayudhya and Krongthong Tassanapan.
The Hot Pepper Singers was founded by the late Pracheen Songpao, also in 1979. The current line-up includes Pusadee Euafua, Satsan Boonyasai, Yongyut Meesaeng, Worapat Wittayopat, Orn-anong Yoosuk and Natnalee Surapalanan. They will perform the band’s signature songs such as Huajai Salai, Lom Rak and Yak Jum Klap Luem.
Joining the two groups as guest artists will be Sathiya Silaket and Daeng Fantastic.
Tickets cost 500-2,500 baht and can be purchased from Thai Ticket Major booths. Part of the proceeds will support the building development and provision of medical equipment at Ramathibodi Hospital.
