Official description

More than 600,000 blooming orchids of various species will turn many parts of Siam Paragon into a floral paradise, from Wednesday until Dec 1.

The eighth “Siam Paragon Bangkok Royal Orchid Paradise” showcases 120 types of orchid, many of which are from Asean countries.

On exhibit will be two 5m-tall orchid sculptures in the shape of Yaksha, a mythical creature, and a colourful orchid garden inspired by Thai literature.

Among the highlighted species of orchard are the Dendrobium Pompadour, from Bangkok; the Famui, from Chiang Mai; the Vando Udorn Sunshine, from Udon Thani; and the Daeng Ubon, from Ubon Ratchathani.

Floral sculptures decorated with orchids from leading hotels such as Siam Kempinski will be showcased alongside models of four newly discovered species of orchid — the Wan Paendin Yen Umpang, Eungkleeb Tid Phannga, Eung Sirichai and Eung Rangnok Thai Thong.

There will be traditional Thai music and fusion music performances, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, at 1pm, 4pm and 6pm.

Selected orchids, gardening tools and quality products from royal projects will be available for purchase.

Call 02-310-2080 or 02-310-2180.
