Official description

Presented by the Japan Foundation Asia Centre, the “Dance Dance Asia — Crossing the Movements, Bangkok Tour” will feature Japanese dance groups Umebou, Tokyo Gegegay and 90’s, at M Theatre, New Phetchaburi Road, on March 28-29 at 7.30pm.

The show is inspired by street dance, but the dancers will also incorporate hip hop, jazz and contemporary dance.

Umebou will wow audiences with its dance style featuring J-pop and jazz dance, which tells all-ages stories centred around the idea that “dance is all about feeling”.

Tokyo Gegegay is led by Mikey, who has worked as a choreographer and backup dancer for Miliyah Kato, BoA, Crystal Kay and Misia. 90’s will bring together Japan’s top new-age dancers born in the 90s, from the jazz, hip hop, break, house and Waack scenes.

Each group will hold a 30-minute workshop, at Creative Industries, on the second floor of M Theatre, on both days, at 1pm, 3pm and 5pm.

Tickets for the show cost 300 baht (150 baht for students) and can be purchased from Thai Ticket Major (visit www.thaiticketmajor.com). The fee for the workshop is 110 baht per class (300 baht for three classes).
