Long-serving principal cellist of the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra, Kittikhun Sodprasert, will perform Boccherini’s Concerto In B-flat Major during the “BSO Classical Concert No. 4”, at Thailand Cultural Centre’s small hall, on April 21 at 8pm.

A graduate from Thailand’s College of Dramatic Arts and the Netherlands’ Rotterdam Conservatory, Kittikhun is also a lecturer at Silpakorn University’s Faculty of Music.

He is equally celebrated as a successful composer and arranger. He wrote The Spirit Of Asia, written for the 1999 Asian Games. He also co-wrote the popular The Asean Way anthem.

French conductor Olivier Robe will direct the concert, opening with Mendelssohn’s String Symphonies No. 10 In B Minor and concluding with Mozart’s No. 39 In E-Flat Major.

Robe has worked alongside many leading composers including Ligeti, Berio, Stockhausen, Kagel and Xenakis.

He has conducted with the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra des Champs-Elysées, Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra and Moscow Symphony Orchestra.
