Official description

To mark World Digestive Day on Friday, which this year highlights heartburn as a global concern, Bangkok Hospital, in collaboration with the Gastroenterological Association of Thailand, is holding “Food for GERD Market” on Friday and Saturday from 9am to 4pm.

GERD or gastroesophageal reflux disease is a common problem especially among city people who lead an unhealthy lifestyle and have poor eating habits such as those who usually do not eat on time, eat too fast or have dinner too close to bedtime. The event aims to raise public understanding regarding the disease, as well as its prevention.

Activities will be arranged in four sessions. GERD food provides healthy menus from several restaurants where visitors can taste and learn the recipes. GERD check offers free preliminary GERD screenings. A comprehensive GERD screening can be bought at a discounted price at the event.

At GERD talk, specialists will deliver lectures on the disease and its relation to stress and cancer. There is also a GERD cooking show by chef Predaphol “Phoom” Balankura, who will demonstrate how to prepare healthy dishes. There is no admission fee, but reservations are advised for the free GERD screening.

- Bangkok Hospital is on New Phetchaburi Road.
-  Call the call centre on 1719.
