The “Seacon Bicycle Expo 15”, which gathers unique, custom, handmade and limited edition bicycles from over 100 brands, opens tomorrow until Sept 20 at Seacon Square.

The fair will feature a large number of bicycles, spare parts and accessories from leading brands such as Brompton, Co-Motion, Abici, Vello, Schindelhauer, Tokyobike, Bianchi, Trek, Araya, Fuji, Laplace, Phoenix, Turbo and LA.

Highlights include Room Bike, a custom city bike from Japan specially made under the collaboration of Tokyobike Thailand and Room magazine; Klein mountain bike from the US; Alex Moulton M60, a limited edition from the UK which comes with removable smaller wheels; and Colnago C40 Gold, a limited edition road bike from Italy.

Vello Speedster, a handmade foldable bike from Austria, which won the Best of the Best award from the Red Dot Design Award 2015 in Germany, will be unveiled in Thailand for the first time at the event and orders can be placed at 40,000 baht per unit. Also displayed will be Co-Motion Pangea, a high-end handmade bicycle for tough touring from Oregon, US, priced at 197,500 baht.

On Sunday, there will be a “balance bike activity” open to children aged 18 months to six years old, from 4pm to 7pm. Registration opens at 3pm, free of charge.

There will also be two charitable activities: at “Cycle to Share Hearts” participants get to pedal the provided bikes to raise the number of donations of up to 30 bicycles by Seacon Square to several schools in the three southernmost provinces.

The “Cycle to Share Happiness” event allows visitors to make their own fruit juice by pedalling the provided bicycle, which is attached to a fruit blender. Proceeds from the sales of the fruit juice will also go to the aforementioned schools.
