Official description

Bridge Art Space returns with its third installation of “Threshold” next month.

The exhibition, featuring digital artists and photographers, is billed as an ongoing investigation into transition and the spaces between places and states, both physical and metaphysical.

Bridge Art Space’s own Dan Burman will present artworks by Sabato Visconti, Esra Kalk, Jessica Ta, Chris Clarke and Jay Curtis. Meanwhile, Myrtille Tibayrenc of Toot Yung Art Space will be curating French contemporary artist Skall, while Brian Curtin of H Gallery will be curating Dhanainun Dhanarachwattana who is a photographer, writer and curator based in Bangkok.

In Dhanainun’s “Prospect”, there are extensive shots of Bangkok and its outskirts. The style of his photography isn’t restricted to just one category, but slides between the objective, distilled socio-cultural commentary, snapshots of personal significance and the serendipity of capturing an artful moment.

For artist Skall, who has been active in Europe and abroad since the 80s, his self-portrait photography merges the natural with the artificial and what’s considered valuable within mass-produced banality.

The opening of Threshold Part 3 will feature a brand-new sound art performance by Liew Niyomkarn.

Threshold Part 3 opens on Oct 17 and runs until Nov 19 at Bridge Art Space, Charoen Krung (opposite Wat Yannawa). Call 086-986-9421.
