Guitar heroes ready to rock your world

Fans of The Guitar Mag will have a big date with musicians from the three generations during “The Legend of The Guitar” at Muang Thai GMM Live House, 8th floor of CentralWorld, this Saturday.

Held to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the monthly song book, the music extravaganza is a rare chance to see 20 famous bands from the 1970s to the present taking turns to perform on the same stage from noon to midnight.

They will be playing their selected hits that everyone can sing along to. Some special versions of selected songs rearranged exclusively for this grand-scale showcase fully equipped with light and sound will also be presented.

Among the participating artists who are most familiar among fans in their 50s are Narathip Kanjanawat, lead vocalist and guitarist of the string-combo Chatree; and Jeed Sunthorn, lead vocalist of the pop-rock-disco Royal Sprites. Fans in their 40s will enjoy favourite songs by the likes of Ood Kiribun, XYZ, Nok Lae, Billy Ogan, Pun Paiboonkiat, The Olarn Project featuring Pong Pathompong, Sek Loso, Waen Thitima, Blackhead, Big Ass and Paradox.

For younger audience members, the line-up includes Mr Team, Stamp Apiwat, Getsunova, Jetset’er, Mild, Singto Numchok and Polycat. Also expect to see special guest artists as well as a jam session between bands of different eras.

Tickets cost 1,800 baht and can be purchased from Thai Ticket Major booths (visit www.thaiticketmajor.com). Part of the proceeds will support the provision of musical instruments for 45 deprived schools across the country.
