Thong Lor Art Space presents Cocktails The Musical, a new solo musical about a mixologist and his love life, which will show daily at 7.30pm on weekdays (except Wednesdays) and 2pm on weekends until Feb 15.
Directed by Dultat Vasinachindakaew, whose Dreamgirls won the 2012 International Association of Theatre Critics (Thailand) Awards for the Best Musical, the show is about a mixologist at a piano bar who is trying to make the same special cocktail he served to a young sad businessman who came for a drink two weeks earlier.
The mix itself was so good that it led them to have intimate relations. However, the customer left him the next morning with a note saying that he had to go for a business trip for two weeks and that he would come back to him.
Then comes the night when the businessman returns, but the mixologist can’t remember the recipe and he is trying to explain to his imaginary friend — who reminds him of his past failed relationships — about how this guy is significant to him.
He is so overwhelmed with his desire for a reunion with the businessman that he finally re-concocts the same special cocktail. So, the drink is ready — but where is the guy?
Playing the mixologist is Witwisit “Pich” Hiranwongkul, a multi-talented Thai performer, actor, singer, songwriter and author. He rose to fame from the lead role in the Thai movie, Love Of Siam.
