Fan fair for movie, comic buffs
The festival will offer the first opportunity to experience Game Of Thrones through 4D Oculus Rift.
The much-anticipated Bangkok Comic Con returns bigger than ever with activities for fans of Hollywood movies and Japanese anime, at Bitec Hall 101-120, Bang Na-Trat Road, from Friday to Sunday, 10am to 9pm.
Hailed as the biggest pop culture and entertainment festival in Southeast Asia, “Bangkok Comic Con 2016” will bring together producers and other relevant parties in the film and animation industry from Hollywood, Asia and Thailand.
This is where some of the biggest names in the movie, animation and special effect industries will also gather. They include actress Caity Lotz from Arrow And Legends Of Tomorrow, comic writer CB Cebulski from Marvel Comics and Thai penciller Kochakorn "Pop Mhan" Manochyakorn, who works with both DC Comics and Marvel Comics.
The festival is also packed with entertainment and stage shows that will be presented every hour throughout the three days. Among them are special shows and games from blockbuster movies such as Captain America: Civil War; Suicide Squad; Storks; X-Men: Apocalypse; Warcraft; Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows; Game Of Thrones; and The Walking Dead.
Leading cartoon characters from around the world are also set to meet Thai fans, such as characters from Pokemon, Bloody Bunny, One Piece, Ultraman, Bananas In Pyjamas.
Another highlight is the “Bangkok Comic Con Cosplay Contest 2016”, which will feature international cosplayers such as Nicole Marie Jean from San Diego who has 2 million followers on social media, and has attended comic con festivals around the world, and Luffy and Olivie from V-Project, Hong Kong.
There will also be discussions with Hollywood stars and those working behind the scenes, an exhibition of rare items and collectibles made exclusively for this festival and many meet and greet sessions with favourite superheroes.
