Saovanit to give solo debut

Famous songstress Saovanit “Gob” Navapan will give her first solo concert, “Living the Dream Concert & Bangkok Symphony Orchestra”, at Thailand Cultural Centre, Ratchadaphisek Road, on June 1-2 at 8pm.

Held in dedication to her uncle Dr Sukhum Navapan and her father Pob Navapan, who have supported her singing career for 16 years, the concert will feature a selection of timeless songs by world-renowned artists such as Carpenters, Barbra Streisand, Whiteney Houston, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Diana Ross and Stevie Wonder.

The repertoire will also include hits from albums Make It Natural and From Voice Within, as well as her newly-released and self-composed single Hak Mai Mee Phrungnee (If There’s No Tomorrow). The music will be rearranged for a full orchestra of 60 instruments from Bangkok Symphony Orchestra with which the Berklee College of Music-educated singer has performed as guest vocalist over the years.

The diva is also one of a few Thai artists invited to have performed with world-class musical groups and artists whenever they come to Bangkok, including Manhattan Jazz Quintet, Jim Brickman, Dave Coz and Philips Symphony Orchestra.

Joining her on stage as guest artists will be Songsit “Kob” Rungnopakhunsi, Peeprapt “Bee” Thenwong and Kit The Voice 2.

Tickets cost 500, 1,000, 1,500, 2,000, 2,500 and 3,000 baht and can be purchased from Thai Ticket Major.
