Russian dancers join with Bangkok City Ballet

Award-winning Russian ballet soloists from Perm Tchaikovsky Opera and Ballet Theatre will perform alongside home-grown Bangkok City Ballet talents during the "A Night at the Ballet" concert in the main hall of Thailand Cultural Centre, Ratchadaphisek Road, on Aug 26 at 8pm.

Prima ballerinas Inna Bilash and Aleksandra Surodeeva will partner principal dancers Nikita Chetverikov and Ruslan Savdenov for Tchaikovsky’s famous Pas De Deux numbers from Swan Lake, Nutcracker and the Rococo Theme Variations, and also Medora and Conrad’s duet from Adolphe Adam’s Le Corsaire.

Bangkok City Ballet will feature in an arrangement of Thai classic Lao Charoen Sri as well as presenting a special choreography to the music of Mozart’s Divertimento In D Major. In between these dancing highlights, the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra will entertain with a large variety of interludes under the baton of returning England-based conductor Martin Andre.

A violin/piano student at the Yehudi Menuhin School and then a graduate of Cambridge University, Andre has had a busy career on the podium, particularly in opera houses and concert halls for more than three decades.

The Perm ballet company focuses on the ever-popular classical works by Tchaikovsky, with all soloists appearing at this concert very well-versed in the principal roles.

Tickets cost 500, 1,000, 1,500, 2,000 and 2,500 baht (half prices for students) and can be purchased from BSO office (call 02-255-6617/8) and Thai Ticket Major booths (visit www.thaiticketmajor.com or call 02-262-3456).
