HM THE KING’S WORDS OF WISDOM
Some of HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s most notable speeches and photos are presented during the “9 Memorable Speeches Of His Majesty In The Hearts Of The People” exhibition at Paradise Park, Srinakarin Road, from today to Dec 5.
Held in remembrance of the beloved monarch, the exhibition presents a collection of nine royal speeches/teachings he delivered to his subjects on different occasions. They are selected for exhibit by nine prominent figures from various fields who were impressed by his words of wisdom.
They include Phra Maha Vutthichai (Vor Vachirametee), who is impressed by the speech on “Righteousness: The Virtue Of The King” the King delivered to the Buddhist Association of Thailand in 1970; National Artist Chalermchai Kositpipat, who adores the “Arts And Artists In The Reign Of King Rama IX” speech he gave during a graduation ceremony at Silpakorn University in 1970; and Assoc Prof Dr Pathorn Srikaranonda, who loves the “The King’s Musicians” speech he gave during his US visit in 1960.
Businessman Choke Bulakul is impressed by the King’s speech on “Royal Initiated Profession” given during the opening of Suan Dusit Powdered Milk Factory in 1969; Col Wanchana Sawatdee recalls his speech on “Regret...Yes But Never Abandon Duties” given on the Royal Thai Armed Forces Day on Jan 25, 1956; and Kru Wit Ananta is impressed by the “Teacher Of Teachers” speech given to senior teachers in 1980.
The line-up also includes Somluck Khamsing who is moved by the King’s speech on “Reward For Perseverance” delivered in 1996, Dr Thon Thamrongsawad by his “Climate Change Caused By Greed” speech delivered in 1989 and ML Chitidhevan Devakula by his speech on “The Royal Knight Rain” given in 1986.
More than 50 rarelyseen photos of the King are also displayed alongside those memorable speeches. There will also be a performance of his royal compositions by Vie Trio on Dec 5 at 5pm, followed by a candlelight ceremony at 6pm.
