French flair at Bridge Art Space

Eight French artists will display their street art during the “Art42, Hors Les Murs//Extramural: Bangkok” exhibition at Bridge Art Space on Charoen Krung Road from tomorrow to Dec 29.

This is the first time in Asia that Bault, Erell, Romain Froquet, Kazy, Clément Laurentin, Madame, Stew and Alexis Cladiere, whose street art works are featured at Art42 Urban Art Museum in Paris, will display 20 of their works outside France.

The collection will see vibrant creatures made from a mix of acrylic paint and low pressure spray paint created by Bault, distinctive square-shaped patterns by Erell and strange characters brought to life by Kazy.

The work of Romain is an invitation to the fantasy and the uniqueness of a universe stemming from his own subconscious while Clément’s optimistic works are the result of a fusion of a graphic and semiological style with distinct lines.

A healthy sense of humour drove Madame to come up with an interesting way to portray how femininity and masculinity can overlap at times and Stew’s famous Japan-inspired artworks show how a powerful source of inspiration can be turned into reality.

Better known for his artistic pseudonym of 36recyclab, multidisciplinary artist Alexis does large scale street exhibitions of black and white, engineering collages with elements of architecture.

The opening is tomorrow at 7pm. The exhibition is open for public viewing Wednesday to Monday from 11am-8pm.
