Effective communication in a changing world

Dozens of articles by scholars from eight countries will be presented during an international academic conference entitled “Communication And Changing Society” at Thammasat University’s Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communication, Tha Pra Chan campus, on Friday, from 9am-5pm.

Held in collaboration with the University of Malaya’s Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences of Malaysia, the conference will feature presentations of 37 academic articles, research and creative projects in the context of mass communication and the rapid changes in today’s world by 37 scholars from Malaysia, China, Nepal, Japan, the Philippines, Zimbabwe, Switzerland and Thailand.

The papers submitted are within the field of journalism, digital media, media management, strategic communication, advertising and public relations management. The focus is on how society is changing and how media is a catalyst for these changes.

This is a chance for those working in mass communication, and academics, to exchange knowledge and build co-operation. The conference is conducted in English, including keynote addresses on “Truth Management As Communication Problematique?” by Prof Dr Chaiwat Satha-Anand from Thailand at 9.30am and on “Asian Creative Counter-Flows: To Market From The Periphery To The Centre” by Prof Dr Azizah Binti Hamzah from Malaysia at 1.30pm.

Registration is 2,000/3,000 baht (1,500/2,000 baht for early birds). Visit www.jc.tu.ac.th/jctucon.
