Official description

Theatre company Peel the Limelight will premiere its third production, an original theatrical piece titled Hollow starting tonight. The play is inspired by the testimonies and history of the thousands of women survivors, known as “comfort women”, who were forced into sexual slavery by the Japanese Imperial Army during World War II. The performance will explore one of the darkest episodes of the 20th century, where more than 100,000-300,000 women of at least 26 nationalities suffered the systematic abduction, rape and torture of this state-sanctioned system of military brothels. The play is suitable for audiences above the age of 15, and runs every Friday and Saturday until Aug 25.
