SAMUT PRAKAN: A 10-year-old girl was allegedly raped by both her father and grandfather several times.
The 29-year-old mother of the victim, known as Kay, yesterday took her daughter to lodge a complaint with Klong Dan police station, accusing a 52-year-old man identified as Wiroj of raping her daughter. Her name is being kept anonymous due to her minor status.
Mr Wiroj is the grandfather of the girl and the father of Ms Kay's husband identified as Nirut, 31, who has also been accused of rape.
Mr Wiroj worked as a garbage collector at a local administrative organisation in tambon Klong Dan of Bang Bo district.
Ms Kay said that the sexual abuse came to light around midnight on May 4. She, her husband and their two daughters, aged 10 and 6, slept together.
She woke up and saw her husband performing intimate acts on their 10-year-old daughter in the backyard of the house.
Mr Nirut fled when he saw Ms Kay approaching.
Police said that when pressed for an answer, her daughter told her that she had been raped by her father for more than two years, Ms Kay said. She then took her daughter to lodge a complaint with police in the morning.
Shortly after, Mr Nirut was arrested and is now detained at Samut Prakan Central Prison.
As police were investigating, they also discovered that Mr Wiroj also allegedly raped his granddaughter for more than three months, Ms Kay said.
The last time the girl was raped by Mr Wiroj was on the afternoon of May 4 before she was raped again by her father, police said. Police were gathering evidence to seek a warrant for the arrest of Mr Wiroj.
Ms Kay said she would take her two daughters to live elsewhere for their safety.
In Pathum Thani, a 41-year-old mother named Oiy filed a complaint with Lat Lum Kaeo police station, asking police to take legal action against a man identified as Phairote, 52, for allegedly raping her 10-year-old daughter for more than four years.
Mr Phairote is the grandfather of the girl.
Ms Oiy said she was divorced from her husband six years ago, and her family and the family of her ex-husband had taken turns taking care of the girl.
Ms Oiy alleged that the girl was raped whenever she stayed with Mr Phairote alone. Mr Phairote is her divorced husband's father.
