SAMUT PRAKAN: A man who was dragged off his motorcycle, shot repeatedly in the abdomen and then abducted later staggered into a shop and asked astonished drinkers for help, early on Thursday morning.

Muang Samut Prakan police were informed of the incident in Muang district about 2.30am.

Witnesses said the motorcyclist, aged about 30, was driving a Honda PCX motocycle without a licence plate. The bike was hit and knocked down by one of three cars which converged on him on Srinakarin Road under the elevated Southern Ring Road.

About four men sprang from the cars and dragged the man behind some roadside shrubs. Four gunshots were heard.

The injured man was then manhandled into a black Honda Jazz sedan and the three cars fled the scene. His shirt and sandals were left on the roadside.

The black car then entered Soi Sridan 3 off Srinakarin Road. It stopped in front of an electrician's shop and the driver revved the motor loudly.

Shop owner Narong Pitjan said he was drinking with friends when the car stopped and then left. He was stunned when shortly afterwards a shirtless man bleeding from several wounds staggered into his shop and asked for help. He had four bullet wounds in his abdomen and a cut on his forehead.

The injured man had tattoos on his body and limbs. He was taken to Samut Prakan Hospital by ambulance.

Police did not release his name. They were investigating.
