PATTAYA: Police arrested a 49-year-old American man at a Jomtien condominium about 5.30am on Wednesday, shortly after his Thai wife fled the building, bleeding from knife wounds, with her seven-year-old son.

Security guard Damrong Atdee, 49, said the woman ran out of the building with her shocked son and cried out for help.

He put them on his motorcycle and rushed to a police booth on Soi Chaiyaphruek, near the Jomtien beach, in Bang Lamung district, Chon Buri.

The woman, whose name was withheld, had a bleeding cut in her head and bleeding stab wounds in her chest. She received treatment at a local hospital.

Police went to the Pattaya Condotel and arrested Nicholas Hillman, 49. He was apprehended while lying on his bed in room F3-13 on the third floor.

Police said they found six scattered knives, liquor bottles, a bag containing an illegal drug  and drug paraphernalia in the room.
