Police have arrested a fruit seller in Khon Kaen wanted for murder for almost ten years.

The Crime Suppression Division (CSD) on Wednesday apprehended Surasit Suwansatit while he was selling fruit at a market in Phu Wieng district.

Boonlue Padungthin of the CSD said Mr Surasit, 27, was wanted by the Royal Thai Police Office for murder on charges dating back to 2009, when the arrest warrant was first issued by the Phetchabun Court.

Pol Col Boonlue said Mr Surasit was accused of killing Boonmee Ramsan in Phetchabun's Bung Sam Phan district in a crime that involved seven other people. Six suspects were sentenced by the court but two went into hiding, he said.

Investigators searched for the two fugitives, and eventually tracked down Mr Surasit operating a fruit stall in Khon Kaen.

Mr Surasit denied the charges, according to Pol Col Boonlue.
