A former Channel 3 reporter has accused her estranged husband of domestic violence, ejecting her from their home, and denying her access to their year-old daughter.

The 36-year-old woman, Busaratip Pusitrat, referred to herself as "A" when talking to reporters after filing a complaint at the Crime Suppression Division on Wednesday. She alleged her now estranged husband, her mother-in-law and a neighbour had assaulted her and prevented her visiting her toddler.

She said her husband is a deputy secretary-general of the Thai Journalists Association, but did not name him.

She had lived with her husband, in his mother's house, for about three years and had been frequently assaulted, even when she was pregnant, she said. She alleged he had slapped her and knocked her head on the floor.

"The most violent incident happened when my ex-husband, his mother and their neighbour tied my wrists and ankles and blanketed me under quilts from 9am to 1.30pm one day," Ms Busaratip said.

"The mother-in-law later convinced me to withdraw the complaint I filed with police, but my ex-husband assaulted me again after I returned to him."

She alleged that on April 16, her husband and mother-in law assaulted her, forced her to leave the house and changed the lock on the gate. She filed a complaint with Bangkok Noi police, and on the same day was prevented from entering the house to see her daughter and collect her belongings.

Pol Capt Pichanon Pleumsud of the CSD said police would try to mediate the dispute. They had been told that the man would send her belongings and clothes to the Bangkok Noi police station, and would fight for child custody in court.
