His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun arrived at the royal crematorium at Sanam Luang to collect the relics and ashes of King Bhumibol Adulyadej on Friday morning.

His Majesty the King paid respect to the royal relics and ashes and showered perfume on them. He then laid robes for Buddhist monks.

The royal relics were put in enamelled gold urns which were then transferred to the Dharma Royal Pavilion in Sanam Luang. There, HM the King offered alms and donations to Buddhist monks.

Royal processions subsequently transferred the royal relics and ashes to the Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha respectively within the Grand Palace.

The activities followed the royal cremation ceremony at Sanam Luang on Thursday. Royalty and dignitaries laid funeral flowers at the royal urn Thursday evening for a symbolic royal cremation. The actual cremation happened late Thursday night.

On Saturday, His Majesty the King would conduct a merit-making ceremony and pay respect to the royal relics at the Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall.

On the following day, the royal relics would be transferred to the Chakri Maha Prasat Throne Hall and the royal ashes would be moved from the Temple of the Emerald Buddha to Wat Ratchabophit Sathit Maha Simaram and Wat Bowonniwet Vihara.
