Bodyslam lead singer Artiwara “Toon” Kongmalai will rest for two days to recover from injury, and plans to resume his 2,191-kilometre charity run on Saturday.

Cherdchai Chayawatthanano, director Bang Saphan Hospital in Prachuap Kiri Khan province said on Wednesday that Toon’s team informed him the rocker had an injury to his right leg and had to stop when he reached Ban Bang Wean in Pathiu district of Chumphon.

On kaokonlakao website, Toon has run for 851.80km, 38.9% of the total distance, and spent 19 days or 155 hours on the road.

His schedule may be changed due to his health.

As of 4.45pm on Wednesday, donations had topped 317 million baht.

The rocker began his run to raise money for medical equipment at 11 state hospitals nationwide from Betong in Yala on Nov 1, and planned to reach Mae Sai in Chiang Rai on Dec 25.

In December 2016, Toon ran 400km from Bangkok to Bang Saphan hospital, raising a total of 85 million baht for the hospital to buy medical equipment.
