NAKHON SI THAMMARAT: Two men were killed after a motorcycle they were riding ran into a roadside stall in Muang district on Saturday night, police said.

Residents alerted Muang district police on Sunday morning after finding the two men lying dead under the vending stall on Nakhon-Chamao road in tambon Tha Rua.

The two were identified from their identification cards as Somkuan Pimjai, 28, of Nong Bua Lamphu province, and Somjit Kaewseemok, 27, of Chon Buri. Both were workers at a palm oil factory in tambon Chang Sai, Phra Phrom district. They were believed to have died five to seven hours previously.

Local residents said they heard a loud noise late on Saturday night. On Sunday morning, they discovered the motorcycle lying by the vending stall near a tamarind tree.

Police were investigating. It was initially suspected the two were driving home drunk from an entertainment venue.
