PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN: Garbage collectors found four human foetuses dumped among the rubbish at a housing estate during their morning collection round in Hua Hin municipality on Tuesday.
They were found at the Ruam Sook housing estate on Soi Cholaprathan 68, police said.
Housing estate resident Sitthiporn Wichai, who lives near the collection point, said the rubbish truck crew first saw the head of an unborn baby through a tear in a black garbage bag as it was being put into the compactor.
They then checked through the garbage and found two black plastic bags, each with two human foetuses.
Estate residents and other people living nearby dumped their trash at the collection point, where there were nine big garbage bins, Mr Sitthiporn said.
Pol Lt Col Samer Yusamran, deputy chief of Hua Hin police station, said investgators were checking surveillance camera footage, hoping to see who dumped the bags and to track them down. The foetuses were probably from an illegal abortion service, but such a discovey was new in Hua Hin, he said.
Garbage was collected daily from that spot, so they were most certainly dumped in the previous 24 hours.
The foetuses were from 3-8 months in development, and no organs had been removed, he said.
