According to the Royal Gazette, the speed control takes effect immediately. It was published on Jan 16 and officially took effect on the following day.

The order was signed by Pol Maj Gen Jirapat Phumjit, deputy commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau.

Roads affected, where maximum speeds have been reduced from 80kph to 50kph include Nakhon Ratchasima Road between Suan Ruen and Wang Daeng intersections; Ratchawithi Road from Upai Jetduthit to Krung Thon Bridge; Samsen Road between Bang Krabue and Si Sao Thewes intersections; and Uthong Nok Road between Uthong Nok and Tha Wasukri intersections.
