Four injured in pickup-lorry crash

NAKHON SI THAMMARAT: A kamnan was seriously injured and three other people were also hurt in a crash between a pickup and a 22-wheel lorry in Thung Yai district early Sunday, police said.

Pol Lt Col Boonruan Pannu, the Thung Yai police chief investigator, said the pickup truck, driven by Preecha Kwanmuang, 48, the kamnan of tambon Thung Sang of Thung Yai district, collided head-on with a lorry which swerved across the line from the opposite lane on the Thung Yai-LamThap road in tambon Kurae about 30 minutes after midnight.

Mr Preecha was seriously injured. Also wounded were Paisal Sangphet, 41, the lorry driver, his wife Pensri, 42, and their three-year-old daughter. They were admitted to Thung Yai Hospital.

Police were investigating the cause of the accident.
