Fire guts school building in Nakhon Sawan

NAKHON SAWAN: A fire ravaged a school building in Kao Lieo district in the early hours of Saturday, completely burning it down. No injuries were reported.

The blaze broke out at Wat Hua Dongnua School in tambon Hua Dong, said police, who were reported at around 3am.

Fire trucks and firemen were rushed to the scene to combat flames that were engulfing the two-storey building, made of wood and concrete. Firefighters raced against time to prevent the fire from spreading to other nearby buildings and it took them more than two hours to put out the blaze.   

The building was burned into ashes. There were no injuries.

Police believed a short circuit might have caused the fire. Damage had yet to be estimated.

Forensic police were investigating the cause of the fire.
