The lower part of a left leg believed to be the last part of a dismembered body discovered earlier in Saen Saep canal in Bangkok has been found.

Police said on Monday the part was retrieved near Wat Thep Leela pier in Hua Mak, Bang Kapi district, early on Monday.

It was believed to be the last missing organ of the dismembered body found earlier.

On Saturday, police found the legless body, cut below the waist, of a bearded man with short curly hair in the canal at the end of Soi Ramkhamhaeng 85/3. There was a six-inch-long slash wound to the left temple.

On the following day, a thigh was found in the canal near Bueng Phra Ram 9 in the same district. A right leg was discovered in the afternoon of the same day 800m from where the torso was found the previous day.

Fingerprints later showed the parts belonged to Winai Jaisaen, 49, a former motorcycle taxi rider in the nearby Happy Land area.

Winai had records of trespassing at night in Hua Mak in 1999 and drink driving in Lat Phrao in 2007. He did not have a permanent address.

According to records, Winai suffered from epilepsy. Last Thursday, he had a seizure in the Happy Land area and fell face first before rescuers helped him.
