CHIANG MAI: Former actor Warut 'O' Woratham, 49, is in an intensive care unit in Mae Rim district on Monday morning after falling unconscious at home in Hang Dong district and being resuscitated twice.
Media reported he fell unconscious at home in Phae Huai Khwang housing estate in tambon Nam Phrae of Hang Dong district Sunday evening after returning from a trip to Lamphun province.
Relatives rushed him to Hang Dong Hospital and he was later referred to better-equipped Nakornping Hospital in Mae Rim. He remained unconscious and depended on a respirator.
A fan named Nat was quoted as saying that Warut had suffered diabetes and been stressed with work.
His maid, identified only as Khamdee, said Warut had often fallen ill but the latest incident was the most serious.
According to earlier reports, the once very popular actor had drinking problems, separated from his second wife and son and later ran a restaurant in Hang Dong.
