Raids net 321 outlaw foreigners

TAK: A total of 321 illegal migrants were rounded up during coordinated raids in Mae Sot district early on Thursday morning.

Combined teams from several agencies were dispatched to various areas of the border district as part of the continuing crack down on people entering or working in the country illegally, dubbed operation "X-ray outlaw foreigners".

Pol Col Man Rattanapratheep, Tak immigration superintendent, told reporters most of the 321 were from Myanmar. All but two had entered the country illegally. The others were had overstayed their visas.

The operation involved 100 immigration officers assisted by tourist police, soldiers, border patrol police, narcotics suppression officials and local officials.
