His Majesty the King officially opened the Happy and Healthy Bike Lane at Suvarnabhumi airport on Friday and led dignitaries to pedal around the track.

The King presided over the ceremony, followed by a ride on the 23.5-kilometre circuit.

Formerly known as the Sky Lane, the Happy and Healthy Bike Lane was named by the King.

The highly popular cycling park is jointly operated by Airports of Thailand Plc and Siam Commercial Bank Plc, which aim to make it one of the world’s best cycling tracks.

The King will also lead the Un Ai Rak cycling event on Dec 9, which will cover 39 kilometres from the Royal Plaza in Bangkok to Lad Pho Park in Phra Pradaeng district of Samut Prakan.
