Pathum Thani: Police yesterday took a 26-year-old pickup truck driver for a crime reenactment after he allegedly shot a 50-year-old van driver dead in a road rage incident on the Bang Khan-Nong Sua road in Klong Luang district.

Pol Lt Gen Ampon Buaranporn, commissioner of the 1st Provincial Police Region overseeing Pathum Thani, said police arrested Passakorn Paprajong at his home in tambon Lat Sawai of Lam Luk Ka district on Monday.

Police also seized three rifles, two handguns, 325 round of ammunition, 142.2 grammes of marijuana and 47 methamphetamine pills from the suspect's home.

Besides murder, the suspect was charged with possession of firearms and ammunition without permission, and carrying firearms and ammunition in public without reasonable cause, Pol Lt Gen Ampon said.

Mr Passakorn is accused of shooting Mr Sitthichai Chobtham to death last Thursday.

The incident was caught on CCTV camera footage.

He allegedly told police he was drunk and lost his temper when the victim cut in front of him in his van.

He followed the victim to a secluded area and shot him twice with a 9mm pistol, according to police.
